Job Description

Job Purpose:
The Floor Technician is responsible for cleaning and maintaining carpet and hard surface floors, including stripping, scrubbing, buffing, waxing, refinishing, sealing, and spot cleaning. Also responsible for using safety measures in work areas. Duties also include assisting the Building/Account Lead with special projects including but not limited to, setups, breakdowns, move-in/ move-outs) and other duties as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical for this classification. All duties may not be performed and/or additional duties may be added to address business needs.
Essential Functions:
  • Scheduled stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, or sealing of different types of hard-surfaced floors using appropriate equipment and chemicals.
  • Scheduled carpet cleaning using approved methods and chemicals.
  • Spot cleaning of carpets as needed.
  • Responsible for securing the working area, using appropriate safety barricades, and removing when duties are completed and the area is safe for public use.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of all equipment being utilized and reporting any issues with the equipment to the supervisors immediately.
  • Reporting any safety hazards as noticed during routine work assignments.
  • Following all safety and personnel rules and regulations in the carrying out of assigned work.
  • Using proper personal protective equipment.
