EXPANDED SITE BASED PROGRAM MANAGER

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Innovative Programs, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta (BBSMA) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Expanded Site Based Program Manager to join the agency at its headquarters located in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Expanded Site Based Program Manager will facilitate and foster program operation and partnership between schools in the Metro Atlanta area with BBBSMA for group and 1:1 mentoring programs in middle schools. The Expanded Site Based Program is a new program for BBBSMA and will operate in three middle schools in its inaugural year. The Expanded Site Based Manager oversees all programmatic aspects including youth enrollment, matching, match support, coordination with schools, and session facilitation, in addition to evaluating the program and supervising/coaching all Mentoring Coordinators and Lead Mentors.

  • Possess efficient but thorough decision-making skills; ability to focus on details, collect meaningful data, and draw solid conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills with families, youth, and volunteers
  • Ability to adapt to and contribute to a dynamic work environment
  • Passion for high-outcomes in school-based mentoring
  • Ability to form and sustain appropriate child, adult volunteer-based relationships based on positive youth development and volunteer satisfaction
  • Ability to effectively assess and execute the following relational support skills: guiding, supporting, confronting, advising and/or negotiating


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead a team of Mentoring Coordinators and Lead Mentors to create and support matches in school programming
  • Maintain partnerships with school administration for an effective school partnership that achieves its goals
  • Maintain and foster partnerships with community, school, and corporations in the region, including hosting information sessions for new volunteer partners
  • Ensure implementation of and assist in tailoring curriculum and programming around school needs
  • Tailor and ensure implementation of program-specific training for Mentoring Coordinators, Lead Mentors, and Volunteers in collaboration with the Director of Training
  • Communicate with Director of Innovation regularly and often regarding program performance, partnership updates, and identified needs for the program
  • Collaborate with External Relations department to set a plan of recruiting corporate and college partners to target to add Volunteers to programming
  • Confidently navigate participant management system to extract data for progress monitoring, reporting, and coaching
  • Track Recruitment efforts and outcomes for youth enrollment
  • Collaborate with Community Based team's managers to norm on processes and share best practices
  • Coach Mentoring Coordinators and Lead Mentors to consistently reflect on and improve their work
  • Randomly review Mentoring Coordinators and Lead Mentors files for quality assurance
  • Evaluate performance of Mentoring Coordinators and Lead Mentors, including determining the best evaluation process and metrics
  • Ensure all expectations are clearly stated and progress monitored within the team
  • Monitor program data, including but not limited to:
    • Number of matches made per site
    • 12-month retention rate
    • Average Match length
    • Match Support Compliance
    • Session satisfaction
    • Achieving all program outcomes
  • Increase awareness of and train on evidence-based practices within Programs
  • Continually update the Expanded Site Based Implementation Guide to establish and disperse policies and procedures
  • Apply learned child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures to all aspects of job.
  • Collaborate with staff, as well as the Executive Team, to bridge the needs of the agency with the actions of the team


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in social work, human services, education, or related field; 3-5 years experience working in a non-profit required. Minumum two years experience supervising a team.
  • Assessment and relationship development experience with child and adult populations; understanding of child development and family dynamics required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; including Word, Outlook, and Excel. Working knowledge of and use of Salesforce, preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Routine office environment. Flexible work hours to meet customer needs. This position is located in our Atlanta office, though requires frequent local travel. Hybrid work options also available.
  • Saturday and evening schedule availability is required.
