Job Description

The Bar Manager oversees the operations of the bar and ensures that the bar staff provides exceptional guest service. Reports to Restaurant General Manager and supervises the Bartenders and Barbacks.
  • Manages beverage inventory and requisitions and purchases supplies, beverages and equipment; receives and checks orders to ensure they adhere to specifications
  • Assists with hiring, assignment and scheduling, training, motivation, evaluation and termination of personnel
  • Meets with dining room and bar personnel to plan restaurant activities, special events, share information, etc.
  • Inspects dining room and storage areas to ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Recommends beverages to guests and shares product knowledge
  • Ensures the restaurant Point of Sales system is in line with menu pricing and that pricing is up to date
  • Supervises cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and arranges for repairs, contracts and other services
  • Documents, investigates, elevates and resolves all employee and guest incidents
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned


Qualifications
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in food service
  • Ability to lead and develop a large team
  • Knowledge of steps of service
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Italian cuisine and beverage preferred

Job Requirements
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Abilities to use draughts, a wine key and a cash register/POS
