Human Resources Generalist - Spanish Bilingual

This role works with all levels of employees and management regarding Human Resources policies and practices to support company goals. This position acts as the first point of contact for management and employees for HR-related issues and requires the ability to communicate, consult and work with organizational leaders across a variety of departments.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact to plant employees in the use of human resource programs and processes
  • Addresses employee requests, inquiries, and concerns; delivers prompt and appropriate counsel and guidance to employees and management
  • Communicates and ensures compliance with Company policies and applicable employment laws
  • Consults with managers to facilitate the performance management process for plant employees and to draft/review performance counseling and progressive disciplinary documentation
  • Leads and oversees all recruitment activities for plant positions helping to fill roles in assembly, paint, fabrication, logistics, and facilities & maintenance
  • Partner with hiring managers to determine staffing needs/levels, recruiting strategy and implements strategies in a timely and cost-effective manner
  • Collaborates with the HR Team, and the Talent Management team to facilitate career management, talent calibration, succession planning, and other talent management strategies
  • May help administer the leave of absence processes, including but not limited to FML, ADA, disability, and any other forms of leave required under state/federal law and/or company policy
  • Participates in conducting internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements
  • Processes new hires and administers new hire orientation. Completes all necessary personnel forms; creates and maintains personnel files; transmits accurate and timely information to Payroll
  • Administers employee programs (attendance, service awards)
  • Facilitates Company response to unemployment claims
  • Remains apprised of changes to state and federal law governing all areas of the Human Resources function

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration or equivalent experience
  • Must have 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Must be fluent in English (written and verbal) and Spanish (written and verbal)
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting/environment is highly preferred
  • Solid interpersonal, verbal/written communication, and PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously are also essential
  • Strong management skills, detail-oriented, flexible, able to prioritize multiple projects with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization, administrative and creative problem-solving skills required
  • Able to communicate to all levels of organization in all settings (from individual to large group)
  • Must be very approachable and able to develop strong professional relationships and foster involvement at all levels of the organization
