Coordinator, Facilities Projects/Compliance



Responsibilities

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates and monitors facilities projects to ensure projects/work adhere to goals and objectives and time lines, meet industry and Medical Center standards, and are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Plans and coordinates The Joint Commission (TJC) activities related to facilities/maintenance for The Queens Health Systems (QHS) entities that are credentialed by the TJC.
Plans and coordinates other regulatory agency (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Department of Health, OSHA, etc.) activities related to facilities/maintenance of QHS entities.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Essential: standing, walking, climbing stairs, seeing, hearing, speaking, walking on uneven ground, squatting, finger dexterity, and repetitive arm/hand motions.
Occasional: crawling, twisting body, lifting maximum amount of 50 lbs., pushing/pulling usual weight of 25 lbs., pushing/pulling maximum weigh of 100 lbs., carrying maximum weight of 50 lbs., static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Frequently near mechanical and electrical systems including high voltage distribution systems.
Frequent climbing of ladders and low level scaffolding.
Some exposure to solvents and welding operations.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
Bachelors degree in engineering; or four (4) years progressive experience in facilities/maintenance may be substituted for the education requirement.

B. EXPERIENCE:
In addition to the education requirement, four (4) years field experience demonstrating knowledge of facilities and maintenance operations, including work of the different trades, i.e., electrical, carpentry, plumbing, systems, etc.
One (1) year experience managing facilities projects, preferably in health care in a comparable organization.
Prior work experience with accrediting and regulatory agencies such as OSHA, NFPA, ASME, etc. codes and standards. Prior experience with The Joint Commission (TJC) preferred.
