Mover/Installer

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Performs efficient moving, reconfiguration, installation and assembly of furniture within a wide range of office and medical facilities , including systems furniture, case goods, accessories, wall-hung units, etc. Is responsible for timely completion of the work with a high level of workmanship, professional customer interface and a high degree of client satisfaction. Safely drives loaded 26’ box truck in an urban environment.

Essential Duties:

· Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts

· Handle customer requests and complaints, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives; follow up to ensure resolution.

· Ability to safely operate a 26’ box truck in a major city environment while following all traffic laws and maintaining awareness of pedestrian safety.

· Is mechanically adept and knows how to safely use tools and equipment

· Understands basic installation processes: unloading, loading, staging, panel assembly, component assembly, cleanup and detailing, lock installation, etc.

· Knows how to assemble, fine-tune and detail panels, components, case goods, seating, filing, tables, etc.

· Is capable and efficient in the assembly of furniture, resulting in quality workmanship

· Is product knowledgeable across most major lines the dealership represents; understands most product specifications and descriptions; can identify basic finishes, colors and fabrics; knows correct application and assembly for products; knows how to make most mechanical adjustments (drawers, slides, etc.)

· Understands basic electricity and systems furniture electrical component installation

· Can carry out assignments with little or no supervision; takes ownership for assignment results and details.

· Understands and follows through with consistent and accurate paperwork; written documentation is neat, clear, intelligible and complete, and done in a timely manner.

· Communicates task status and problems to supervisor in a timely and clear manner; keeps supervisor fully appraised of status of their repairs.

· Has physical strength and stamina required to lift and move furniture, boxes and equipment

· Has strong work ethic and very ethical approach to the business; is punctual and self-motivated; has the ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts

Education & Experience

HS Diploma/GED preferred

Must possess a valid WA driver's license or WA state ID and reliable transportation.

1-3 years of experience driving a box truck in a professional environment

1-3 years of experience as a commercial furniture installer

Core Competencies:

· Communication: Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the English language.

· Must be able to regularly lift and /or move up to 35 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift 75 lbs. and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.

· Must be able to stand for entire shift and walk up to 10 miles a day.

· Resourcefulness: ability to find way around barriers to success and is flexible in a rapidly changing work environment.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
