Software Engineer / The Architect (Eglin AFB)
Job Description
Who You Are:
Our Software Engineers are people with a passion for bringing order to chaos. You will have a lot of hardcore programming chops but mostly you have great instincts and a knack for understanding what customers really want when they talk about their requirements.
Let’s face it, building things is a lot of fun, especially when you can unleash your imagination and put your own personal stamp on the project. You are a person that will take chances and build without fear. We are not designing and developing boring, cookie cutter solutions; you will be a champion of bleeding edge designs to make sure that we are delivering the innovative solutions that customers only dream of.
The bottom line: If you’ve ever watched Inception and thought, “wow, I’d love to create my own world” then you should apply to be one of our Software Architects. We want to turn you loose and see what you build. Are you up to the challenge?
What You Will Do:
Most of the work we do uses different capabilities resident in the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software suite. We are looking for people that want to build new tools, custom integration environments, and virtual simulation sandboxes.
Mosaic warfare is the future of war and we are going to help design the tools that allow our customers to piece that mosaic together. Come work with us and show our customers your vision for that future.
Our most successful employees have similar backgrounds:
- Most have a 4-year degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a closely related discipline
- Everyone knows enough about C++ or Python to be dangerous (in a good way)
- Knowledge of ITASE and how it complements AFSIM
- At least a layman’s understanding of the how the different levels of the M&S Pyramid are connected
After that, team members wander into areas that pique their own individual interests:
- Some are great with MATLAB and Simulink
- Others gravitate towards DevOps (GTest)
- There are even a few that enjoy front-end GUI work.
Other tools and software you might have worked with before:
- TMAP, FALCON, or JMP
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Preferred – TS/SCI
- Must Have – Secret
