SUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Facilities Director who will primarily be responsible for aiding Axiom to lead its facilities organization, comprised of Maintenance & Operations, Planning, Security & Emergency Management, and Transportation. This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas and will support the Axiom Space with the development of new facilities and sustaining operations for existing and new facilities. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about customer service and excels at problem solving. The role requires strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a Facilities team comprised of Maintenance & Operations; Planning; Security & Emergency Management; and Transportation & Services.
- Oversee development of new facilities and sustaining operations for existing and new facilities
- Lead large project teams comprised of engineers, consultants, and contractors throughout construction, including the entirety of the engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning process
- Manage the design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for aerospace, industrial, and commercial type projects
- Work cross functionally to generate, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing various construction projects and resolve design and construction conflicts
- Perform accurate budgeting and cost forecasting
- Monitor and report overall integration schedule, budget, and risks for highly complex design, development projects
- Collaborating with cross-discipline leaders, stakeholders and customers to understand and anticipate needs
- Monitor, evaluate and report metrics to stakeholders (schedule, cost, procurement, project health, risks, etc) and offer solutions on possible improvements
- Communication horizontally and vertically for progress, status, and risk
- Balancing multiple diverse projects

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline
- 10+ years of facilities experience preferably with construction background
- Position requires a valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record
- Understanding and knowledge of the Maintenance & Operations; Planning; Security & Emergency Management; and Transportation & Services
- Direct experience with day-to-day management of construction projects
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and power operations
- Experience with gas piping systems for aerospace services, including nitrogen, helium, oxygen, and compressed air
- Experience creating and implementing process/design solutions with minimal impact to business operations
- Able to quickly assess and perform troubleshooting to initiate repair/replacement
- Ability to work in a fast pace, dynamic environment, under possible extended work hours and tight deadlines
- Attention to detail, ability to see interactions with other systems to avoid problems
- Familiarity with relevant Building Codes where facilities are located
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
Requirements
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

Physical Requirements
• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
