EVS Assistant Shift Manager

Your daily responsibilities include
- Responsible for supervising staff and the overall daily management of the EVS employees and departments.
- Supports, administers and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
- Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving guest satisfaction.
- Responsible for assisting in the budget process for the department and provide recommendations; ensuring compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to manager.
- Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
- Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise.
- Ensures the day-to-day cleaning of the property (both front of house and back of house) is performed to established standards; also ensuring deep cleaning activities are performed with minimal impact to operations, during applicable shift. inspects completed work.
- Assists with development and management of operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
- Makes recommendations for needed supplies and equipment. Assists in ordering all supplies and maintaining equipment inventory.
- Assists with maintenance of cost control methods and procedures by monitoring consistent pars and inventory of supplies.
- Responsible for proper maintenance of EVS equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring OSHA standards and established property safety regulations are followed.
- Responsible for ensuring all staff within the department are trained, that staff has all necessary tools to complete tasks, and that all equipment is maintained and in working order.
- Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
Qualifications
- Must be 21 or older.
- Associates Degree (A.A.) in related field; five years of experience in EVS environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience required.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Must have knowledge of OSHA standards.
- Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all EVS team members in times of emergencies.
- Must be able to operate all standard EVS equipment, including, but not limited to: vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, computer, copy machine, mop, broom, and handheld radio operation.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
SUPERViSORY RESPONSiBiLiTiES
This job has supervisory responsibilities.
- Responsible for staff development and training programs.
- Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
- Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees in regards to performance.
- Provides recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.
- Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
- Provides recommendation for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, and counseling).
