A CPA firm located in New York City is actively seeking an experienced and hardworking professional for a promising opportunity as their new Senior Financial Services Auditor. In this role, the Senior Financial Services Auditor will perform and assist with audits, reviews, and compilations for clients within the financial services industry.

Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Services Auditor will:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and evaluate internal controls
• Assist with the coordination of the day-to-day duties of planning, fieldwork, and wrap-up
• Develop reasonable time budgets and coordinate audit requests to meet time constraints and client deadlines
• Mentor, train and supervise lighter level staff
• Contribute to a strong client relationship through positive interactions with client personnel
• Communicate with Manager and/or Director on work status and client issues that arise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• CPA or (in process of obtaining)
• 3+ years of experience within a public accounting firm
• Experience working with financial services clients such as hedge and private equity funds, broker/dealers etc.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
• Deep understanding of accounting and reporting standards
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills
• Outstanding analytical, organizational, and project management skills
