What Were Searching for:
At Hood Container Corporation we are looking for a Shipping & Receiving Supervisor for our Atlanta, Georgia facility. In this role, you will be responsible for shipping orders efficiently, accurately receiving product, and supervising shipping department employees. The Shipping Supervisor is a salaried role reporting to the Shipping Manager. This is an overnight position.
How You Will Contribute:
- Strong commitment to the Companys quality policy and confidentiality policy.
- Maintain a courteous and professional approach with all customers, business contacts, and fellow employees.
- Observe and adhere to all Company policies and procedures, as well as departmental procedure directive by the Plant Manager.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate shipping department personnel.
- Maintain high safety and housekeeping standards for area of responsibility.
- Interact with customer service and production for smooth, total quality order shipments from all shipping facilities.
- Process paperwork accurately and procedurally correct for outgoing shipments.
- Oversee loading and unloading trailers.
- Protect and keep product free from damage.
- Participate in monthly physical inventory procedures.
- Receive product with accuracy and on a timely basis in Amtech.
- Maintain and record shipping records and driving logs.
- Maintain fleet equipment, warehouse inventory, and shipping supplies.
- Perform all tasks assigned by supervisor.
What it Takes:
- High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
- Five-years experience in a manufacturing and shipping environment preferred.
- Ability to multi-task and produce accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to supervise and manage employees.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with a highly diverse environment.
- Ability to retain technical information.
- Computer literate.
- Self-starter and team player.
- General high level of enthusiasm and creative ability.
