Job Overview:
The Technical Compliance Specialist role is one of the critical roles that exists on the team. In this role, you will be an embedded risk manager and part of the global VMware Operations team which is responsible for end-to-end support of Citi's private cloud infrastructure. The successful person will likely be assigned a range of short-term and long-term projects to be executed simultaneously and will be responsible for independent decision-making to mitigate risks and resolve project-related issues. Additionally, you will apply your technical expertise to address inconsistencies between internal and external systems of record, identify and initiate system cleanup activities, and contribute greatly to regular risk review meetings. You will also lead and/or work collaboratively as a team member on technically complex risk related sprints and small work items that require detailed planning, reviewing specifications, evaluations, and assessments associated with the design, operation, and maintenance of systems and technologies.

Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on project management practices, resource coordination, vendor management, and various ancillary duties required to initiate, execute, and conclude each assigned work item
- Guide the execution and completion of assignments across cross-functional teams and activities related to the development of plans, schedules, and execution of assigned projects
- Working with automation teams, performing maintenance, organizing and maintaining product documentation
- Leads change review calls to ensure proper communication and address critical changes according to risk
- Identifies, measures, and mitigates risks associated with security projects, alerting PMO manager and CS management of problem areas
- Knowledge of the entire VMware virtualization suite of products including but not limited to vSphere, ESXi, vRops, LogInsight, and NSX-T is a must for this position
- Work with various internal and external teams to identify and resolve problems
- Conducts risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends
- Establishes policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organizations services and departments
- Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals to management and senior staff
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years leading cross functional projects in a related field
- Attention to detail and an extreme level or organization is critical for this role
- Prior experience supporting a large-scale, enterprise class environment with a strong focus on risk management
- Experience working with virtualization technologies or other IT Infrastructure
- Experience interfacing with groups across the enterprise stack including networking, storage, project management, capacity planning, and incident management is a plus
- Proven ability to create educational materials/presentations, technical documentation, and training teams on processes and best-practices
- Highly interpersonal, comfortable communicating technical language with the given audience and able to express complex concepts in plain language to reach broader audiences
- Driving the quality of the application onboarding process and distributing training materials to internal teams
- Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation writing and delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be personable yet persistent
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
- Proven track record of operational process changes and improvement
- Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
