Job Summary

An all - girls Catholic High School in New York City is seeking a knowledgeable, innovative, and inspiring music teacher to join a great team. The candidate must have a solid understanding of New York State Music Standards. The candidate must also partake in collaboration with other colleagues and promote understanding and communication in a diverse learning and cultural environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Create daily lesson plans and learning activities based on New York State Standards.
• Deliver high quality and engaging instruction.
• Differentiate lessons when needed.
• Evaluate student performance on tasks and adjust the lessons when necessary.
• Maintain a safe, orderly and supportive classroom by following the procedures and policies set
• forth by the school's handbook.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress.
• Develop engaging and relevant lessons that allow the students to grow academically.
• Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences into the classroom.
• Teach choir, band, orchestra, or a combination of all.
• Work with students on plays, concerts, and other events that include music.
• Assign practice and other music-related homework and test students on their knowledge.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music education
