Director of Accounting

Robert Half Finance and Accounting has partnered with one of the South Bays's most sought after employers to recruit a Director of Accounting. This is a very rare opportunity to join this prestigious organization at the Director level! Duties include managing a team, performing accounting research, performing external reporting, being in charge of consolidations, streamlining reporting, participating in close and forecasting activities.

Requirements

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Masters degree preferred. Prior national public accounting firm experience preferred with SEC registrant clients. CPA highly preferred. 8+ years Accounting experience with 2+ years Big 4 preferred. Some high level items you'll accomplish while working here:

• Prepare financial statements along with relevant footnotes and disclosures
• Be up to date on new accounting standards from GAAP and or FASB - including taking ownership of new lease accounting standards (ie old ASC 606)
• Own all aspects of the debt covenant including but not limited to reporting, risks, and financial positioning.
• Develop policies for new or existing accounting standards while ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies

The value you'll bring to the company:

• Bachelor's in Accounting
• CPA license (active) - must have
• Prior experience in public accounting firms, preferably one of the Big 4
• Prior experience in a public company or large privately held firm within Distribution, Manufacturing, Logistics
