POSITION OVERVIEW

The Controller, reporting to the Global Controller, will have responsibilities for all Americas management company activities, including accounting close, financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, general accounting, and tax filing support.


RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overall oversight of the consolidated financial statements for the Americas management company entities, including the firm’s U.S. Operations, Latin America strategy, and Portfolio Operations group

• Manage a team of internal and external resources responsible for day-to-day accounting, monthly close, accounts payable/accounts receivable and related activities

• Review and sign-off on account reconciliations prepared by the accounting staff, and ensure reconciling items are actioned and the balance sheet is managed appropriately

• Supervise reconciliations of intercompany accounts and ensure timely recharges of expenses between management company affiliates and the firm’s investment Funds

• Responsible for revenue management, including review of management fee calculations and other consulting or advisory fees

• Manage operating costs and, along with Fund Accounting and Legal, oversee complex expense allocations between the management company and the firm’s investment Funds

• Preparation of the annual budget for the Americas entities, and delivery of quarterly management reporting, variance analysis, and reforecasting as needed.

• Responsible for cash management and forecasting, including aiding the Global Controller with global cash and debt management

• Facilitate and manage all aspects of the annual audit and periodic reviews for the Americas entities. Coordination with tax manager on tax returns, estimated payments, distributions, and on all tax filings

• Responsible for the adherence to internal control processes and procedures to ensure controls are functioning as designed and financial reporting for the Americas is complete and accurate.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in accounting, including a background in public accounting and experience with management company accounting at an alternative investment firm

• CPA required

• Experience with various systems such as NetSuite, Concur, OneStream and/or MineralTree is preferred

• Proven ability to lead a team

• Ability to partner internally, establish credibility, and create a track record of building strong and effective working relationships

• Strong coordination skills and a collaborative team player

• Self-motivated with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Strong time management skills. Detail-oriented with superior organization skills
