Vice President, Commercial Portfolio Manager III

This role will support Commercial Real Estate and will be expected to complete loan analysis on new requests, including pre-deal and credit vehicle preparations, assist with the annual reviews and on-going management of the RM’s existing portfolio, undertake certain on-going responsibilities, such as contacting customers for financial reporting, responding to credit risk review inquires, etc. The role will include a certain level of customer contact, to assist with customer needs and requests. The successful applicant will join an established Commercial Real Estate team, reporting to a Team Leader and working alongside other Portfolio and Relationship Managers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Portfolio Management, including Financial Reporting and Covenant Tracking

  • Obtaining annual financial information for files from clients
  • Analyzing financials on existing relationships, testing covenant compliance memos, and preparing annual reviews
  • Report regularly on status to Team Leader & Relationship Manager

New Loan Requests and Loan Renewals

  • Analyze new loan requests (cash flow assessment, collateral valuation, spread analysis, guarantor assessment, etc.)
  • Research, compile, and provide market analysis relative to a credit
  • Assist in preparing/underwriting pre-deals and credit vehicles (both new loans and renewals)

Other Tasks

  • Assist the Appraisal and Environmental department with ordering third-party reports
  • Direct and supervise credit analysts on certain tasks as appropriate
  • Assist with Credit Risk Review tasks, including coordinating responses to CRR, monitoring action steps for remediation, etc.
  • Conduct in-person inspections of collateral properties
  • Prepare Managed Asset Plans for criticized assets as appropriate
  • Work closely with CRE team to ensure market leading customer service

Provide Backup to other Relationship Managers/Relationship Administrators as needed

  • Assist the team during vacations/absences as necessary
  • Provide sales & service support as necessary

Experience and Experience

  • Formally Credit Trained Demonstrates experience and judgment with credit decisions and analysis
  • Coach credit analysts on credit and customer interaction skills
  • 5-7 years’ experience Work with limited supervision
