Senior Electro Mechanical Assembler



Job Description

SUMMARY

The Senior Electro Mechanical Assembler is primarily responsible for fitting and assembling electromechanical equipment and machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Performs any combination of following tasks to assemble mechanical or electronic components and subassemblies: Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

Build & test a varied range of precision mechanical assemblies and/or electronic assemblies to a high level of quality and efficiency using crimpers, small hand tools and soldering equipment

Performs housekeeping and clean up duties upon completion of assigned tasks

Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Company from time to time

Periodically perform job tasks while viewing work through a microscope

Provide advanced manufacturability inputs to reduce product cost and increase reliability

Assemble prototype assemblies with limited input from engineer

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Five years of experience as an assembler of electro-mechanical assemblies.

High School Diploma or GED

J-STD-001 Certification preferred

Knowledge of IPC soldering and crimping standards a plus

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to occasionally work extended hours

Good dexterity and skill in use of hand tools

Good visual perception and ability to distinguish between colors

Punctual and dependable attendance.

Understands basic philosophy and participates fully in carrying out its mission.

Ability to determine and/or follow methods and sequence of operation in performing assembly tasks such as wiring, component installation, stuffing, and performing tasks while viewing through a microscope

Ability to perform electronic assembly using small hand tools, soldering irons

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and wire lists in English.
