We are currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to be based out of the Holiday Inn Detroit Metro Airport which boasts 114 guest-rooms and 5,000 square feet of meeting space.
Our Area Sales Manager is a sales professional who has demonstrated success in the local hotel marketplace. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills which are essential to creating effective client relationships and to attain budgeted business objectives. The Area Sales Manager will employ value selling techniques and communicate with an open dialog and must be customer centered at all times to ensure that the clients needs are communicated with accuracy and detail.
As our Area Sales Manager you will be responsible for direct sales, pro-actively calling on local accounts, individual revenue goals set by the Vice President of Operations & Vice President of Sales and Marketing in order to achieve the financial, business and marketing objectives of hotels within your area. This is accomplished by developing a strategic and measurable plan to generate new business and growing existing accounts in assigned key market segments. She/He will work closely with Revenue Management, Catering and all Operational departments of the hotel.
Candidates should have the ability to self-motivate, be a strong team player, and be willing to learn. Excellent relationship-building and negotiating skills, exceptional follow-through, strong organizational skills and strong time-management skills are required.
The Area Sales Manager will be required to utilize PC applications, including property management systems, database and Microsoft Office products.
Candidate should have at least a minimum of two years Hotel Sales Experience.
Experience in setting a weekly sales plan and meeting/exceeding revenue objectives ( goal achievement) is required.
Experience with BT, Small Group and Catering
Working knowledge of FDC (formerly Delphi) and Meeting Broker
Ability to multi task in a fast paced team environment but has the ability to work independently
