Optician

Brookings Health System is seeking an Optician to join our team at Yorkshire Eye Clinic and be part of the Brookings Health System mission: To provide high quality, compassionate, personalized health care.

This is a part-time position, 16 hours per week and will be responsible for sales of optometric frames and lenses (contact or glass). To interpret and dispense optical prescriptions and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses to meet the customer's needs, comfort and appearance.

To perform this job successfully, individual must have:

• Excellent phone, communication, organizational, and mathematical skills are required
• Proper phone etiquette is required to effectively communicate with patients
• Basic Computer knowledge
• Maintaining patient confidentiality is required
• Certification by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE) preferred but will train the right individual
• Certified Paraoptometric Assistant Certification voluntary
