KBR is looking to hire a skilled Windows Administrator to manage and maintain our Windows system and server network. This role will be responsible for installing or upgrading Windows-based systems and servers, managing user access to the servers, and maintaining the security and stability of the network. To ensure success as a Windows Administrator, you should have in-depth knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance, advanced coding skills, and the ability to solve complex IT issues. Responsibilities: * Lead, coordinate, and participate in key process improvements for all environments throughout the organization.
* Installation, configuration, maintenance of Windows Server 2012-2019
* Installation, configuration, and maintenance of VMware ESXi and AHV environments
* Have a deep understanding of networking (Juniper preferred)
* Participate in the design and review of new Windows systems and Windows application deployments in both
* workstations and servers
* Experience with an automation & system management product is a plus (e.g. BigFix preferred, or SCCM, MOM, or similar tool)
* Help establish and implement policies and procedures.
* Ensure that servers comply with established policies, standards, licensing agreements, and configuration guidelines
* Define and implement strategies for integrating Windows and non-Windows operating environments
* Knowledge of disaster recovery methods and procedures
* Monitor and test system performance; provide statistics and reports
* Recommend and execute modifications to Windows systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
* Ability to write and update concise, logical technical documentation; including but not limited to, diagrams, charts, specifications, and design models
* Apply diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting
* Perform preventative maintenance as directed
* Maintains an ongoing in-depth level of professional development to enhance technical skills, communication skills, business knowledge, and knowledge of IT products
* Automation; be passionate about automating redundant tasks Requirements: A strong background in Microsoft Windows Server and working knowledge of storage systems such as Dell Compellent SAN and/or Nutanix Prism and understands how to provision storage within a virtual environment. Must understand hypervisors -VMware/Acropolis preferred. Must have familiarity with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and other services and networking protocols. * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
* 7 + years of proven experience as a Windows Administrator
* Detailed knowledge of Windows server setup, deployment, and maintenance
* Ability to create scripts in Perl, Python, PowerShell, and similar languages
* Experience with databases, patch management, and networks including LAN and WAN
* Familiarity with modern operating systems and server platforms
* Knowledge of network security systems, intrusion detection systems, and data backup
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Strong analytical and communication skills
