Under general supervision, independently troubleshoot and inspect lifting devices and equipment to detect faults and malfunctions. Determine extent of repair required. Responsibilities: * Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts.
* Clean, lubricate and perform other minor maintenance work. * Perform lifting device and equipment inspections, minor repairs, installations and respond to possible breakdown calls.
* Utilize daily opportunities to train and instruct, along with more formal training, is required. * Inspect hoists, cranes, systems, chain falls, mobile aerial platforms, powered industrial trucks, mobile cranes, hydra- sets, and other ground support equipment used for projects. * Examine all inspection tests, findings or repairs and obtain customer satisfaction.
* Test each crane repair for complete functionality. * Complete daily paperwork accurately and completely; time tickets, service reports, inspection reports and sales lead generation. * Maintain all LDE program equipment and tools in compliance with the manufacturer's recommendations and certifications. * Display a professional image and work within a team environment to accomplish goals. Interpersonal relationship building and customer interfacing skills are desired.
* Maintain work area, equipment and tools in a clean and organized manner, following all safety guidelines. * May attend design reviews and technical interchange meetings to provide safety assessments and technical support. Education: * High school diploma and 8 or more years of lifting device or equipment inspection and testing experience. An International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union position requires formal training and certification as a minimum of a Certified Inspector in Overhead and Mobile Crane, Powered Industrial Truck, and Mobile Aerial Platform desired. This position is contingent upon contract funding.
