Senior Financial Analyst (100% Remote for Pacific Time Zone Residents)

Beacon Resources, in partnership with a biotech company in West Los Angeles, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst OR a Financial Analyst on a direct hire basis.

Job Description (General) - You will assist the FP&A Director to support the Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Analysis for the company’s manufacturing, R&D Operations, and corporate strategic plans. There is a sizable Business Analytics element to this role.

The hired Senior Financial Analyst will report to the FP&A Director. The FP&A relishes mentoring ,so someone who wants this in their role will get it.

Job Site Status (remote/mixed/onsite) – This role is 100% remote for (preferably) Pacific Time Zone residents. However, our client does required proof of COVID vaccination. Travel to the parent company’s East Coast offices might be required on an infrequent basis.

Compensation/Benefits – Salary range starts at $100,000/year, and increases depending on qualifications. Our client supplements base compensation with standard benefits, and a company bonus.

DUTIES OF THE SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A)

  • Assist in the development and execution of the financial budgets for the Company (specially for the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process with the sales, marketing, and operations groups to ensure financial information is provided on a regular basis to effectively manage the business
  • Develop presentations and analysis of budget performance and key business metrics, including variance analysis and Year Over Year (YOY) analysis
  • Perform analytics to support commercial planning activities, business development activities and strategic planning activities (specially to support the formulation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
  • Analyze Cost of Good Sold (COGS) and Operating Expenses (OPEX)
  • Create financial models to support all reporting initiatives

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) – Revenue


• Perform price volume mix analysis for revenue and gross margin

Miscellaneous

  • Work with other divisions within the company
  • Accept other ad hoc duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Required

  • BA in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration (or in lieu, equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in FP&A OR data analytics

Preferred

  • Biotech, health care, or pharmaceutical industry
  • MBA

SKILLS OF THE SENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST

Required

Technical

  • Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, and IF formulas) and MS PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in a major ERP system

Interpersonal

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
  • Ability to work well with different departments and in different capacities
  • Superior project management skills
  • Natural inquisitiveness
  • Proactive inclination to take a project and take ownership
