Quality Control Inspector

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Position Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager / Plant Manager


General Summary: Conduct Quality Assurance audits of production facilities assuring company standards are maintained and product integrity is preserved.


Essential Functions:

  • Performs and records daily quality checks as required.
  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance and mechanical characteristics.
  • Confirms that plant production procedures are properly carried out.
  • Determine overall plant product quality by conducting and evaluating various product tests.
  • Work with management to resolve major quality problems as required.
  • Consult with plant management and personnel on better operational procedures to improve overall efficiency and product yields.
  • Function as an information source for all departments when critical quality issues arise.
  • Wearing the proper and required safety equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    Experience: One to two years related quality control experience preferably in a

    manufacturing environment. Forklift operator’s certification highly desirable.

    • Oral communication-the individual speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Ability to read and interpret documentation such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Mathematical Skills-Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Quality management-the individual looks for ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Precision instruments – the individual has previous experience with the use of precision instruments.
    • Adaptability-the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with a frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
    • Dependability-the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
    • Safety and security-the individual actively promotes and personally observes safety and security procedures, and uses equipment and materials properly.


    Contact with others: Regular daily routine requires contact with other employees and management.


    Supervision Received: Works under direct daily supervision of Quality Assurance Manager and /or Plant Manager, receives goals and basic procedures for project assignments. Must handle prioritization with a variety of competing activities. Seeks guidance to assure complete and appropriate action.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle, feel objects, twist and turn and hands/wrists to pull greater than 35 pounds of force; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
