In the role of Senior Accountant, you will handle the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, the analysis and reconciliations of accounts, and the analysis of cash flow. You will also establish budgets and forecasts, prepare audits, and manage internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. Exceptional analytical skills are required to excel in this role. Located in Irving, Texas, this Senior Accountant role is with a company in the Financial Services field.
What you get to do every single day
- Partake in various department-wide initiatives
- Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
- Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
- Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
- Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
- Produce error-free monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
- Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
- Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Commitment to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
- Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
- BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
- Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
- Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
- Excel Formulas experience
- Skilled with ERP systems
- 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
- Self-starter and strong ethical standards
- SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
