NGHS is currently seeking a Medical Technologist in Gainesville

Full Time, 6:30pm-7:00am, 12 hr shift

Department Overview: The Braselton Campus Laboratory offers a full range of services 24 hours a day, seven days per week, to inpatients and outpatients of all ages. Most clinical laboratory and some pathology procedures are provided in-house. Reference lab services are provided by the Centers for Disease Control, Georgia Department of Human Resources, ARUP Laboratories, Specialty Laboratories, American Red Cross, CSI Laboratories, NeoGenomics Laboratories and Mayo Medical Laboratories. Gainesville Regional Pathology Associates, a group of seven pathologists, provides anatomic pathology services. The Braselton Campus Laboratory Department encompasses all age groups and therefore, services are provided to patients of all ages both inpatient and outpatient. The Laboratory staff is divided into three shifts. This allows the laboratory to be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days per week.

Job Summary: Responsible for prioritizing testing procedures and completing those procedures in an accurate and timely manner to facilitate rapid patient recovery. Responsible for maintaining proper accurate records of all tests done in accordance with Joint Commission requirements. This position will care for patients in the adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • ASCP, NCA or AMT. Meets the requirements of the State of Georgia
  • 2-3 years (not including internship and education) is preferred.
