Program Manager 3

Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of designated programs to ensure that goals and objectives of the program are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and budget parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Participates in strategic planning and business development activities.

  • Review program proposals or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing program, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of program.

  • Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of the program and arrange for recruitment or assignment of program personnel.

  • Confer with the program staff to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of program personnel to ensure program progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.

  • Secure support from other functional areas as required.

  • Maintain ultimate cost, schedule, and technical performance responsibility for assigned program(s).

  • Prepare proposals.

  • Review status reports prepared by program personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

  • Prepare program reports for management, client, or others.

  • Confer with program personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.

  • Coordinate program activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.

  • Interface with customers and develop new customers base.

  • Assist customers in developing new programs.

  • Develop understanding of component technologies including potential applications, cost, maturity, and risk.

  • Acquire new awards through expansion of existing programs & acquire new programs through both existing & new customer bases.

  • Develop new and builds upon current business relationships.

  • Provide direction and may supervise lower-level Program Managers.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. preferred) from four-year college or university and 10+ years related experience with a minimum of 7 years in program management or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in an industry environment.

  • PMP certification may be counted towards education and experience requirement.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Knowledge of program management, DOD acquisition and munitions preferred.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance post hire.
