Network Planning Engineering

This position is 100% onsite.

US citizens only. Public Trust clearance required.

Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and modeling. Designs, analyzes, plans, and modifies network components and/or software by translating customer requirements and objectives into final product design. Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.

• Understand the fundamentals of IP Routing
• Understand what happens in detail from point A to point B in networking and able to explain it
• Good with at least one other protocol knowledge
• Supporting MPLS, BGP (Experience from Tmobile, Lumen, Verizon)
• 8+ years of network engineering experience with IP networks or, a 4-year Bachelor of Science degree with 4+ years relevant experience with IP networks
• Experience configuring MPLS, ISIS, QoS, BGP, VPLS, AS prepending, route policies, and in-depth BGP troubleshooting and configuring (Route-leaking, BGP attributes (local preference and community’s))

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conducts network architecture design, feasibility and modeling.
• Designs, analyzes, plans, and modifies network components and/or software by translating customer requirements and objectives into final product design.
• Develops and evaluates network performance criteria and measurement methods.
• Prepares the analysis of the short-term or long-term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling.
• Experienced professional with proficient knowledge of job area and practical knowledge of project management.
• May manage projects or processes with general supervision.
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside of own department to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
• Recommends enhancements to systems and processes.
• Works to achieve operational targets for specific programs and projects with moderate impact on departmental results.
