Sr DEI Program Manager
Reporting the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer (CDIO), the Senior Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager will play a critical role in further developing, driving and executing on Valley's DEI strategy. In addition to developing innovative DEI programs, the person in this role will need to build trust & partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking a leader who is deeply passionate about DEI, results-oriented, and strategic. This person should exhibit strong communication, influencing, program management and problem-solving skills across partner groups and have a proven track record of successfully delivering DEI initiatives.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the CDIO execute, measure, and continue to build on Valley's DEI strategy which promotes a culture of inclusion and belonging for our associates and customers.
- Work with CDIO to inspire, develop, and facilitate the work of Valley's four DEI Governance Councils.
- Execute and manage DEI initiatives, events, and programs with minimal oversight. Communicate with and influence stakeholders (without authority).
- Manage the communication strategy for promoting and highlighting DEI programs. Partner with Marketing and Communications to communicate internal and external DEI initiatives and messaging.
- Partner with Learning & Development and Talent Development teams to ensure DEI content is included in leadership development, learning, and engagement programs, and develop and implement a DEI education curriculum.
- Develop Valley's Supplier Diversity Program in partnership with Procurement and Vendor Management.
- Build strong relationships with external organizations to increase awareness of Valley's commitment to DEI.
- Partner across Business Groups, and Human Resources to create awareness of and drive diversity strategies, leveraging subject matter expertise.
- Work with the talent management team to develop and champion internal mobility, career pathing and associate retention, and to further establish Valley as a destination for diverse talent.
- Gather, analyze and present data and metrics, utilizing data-based evidence to measure progress and to improve DEI strategies and plans.
- Stay at the forefront of the diversity, equity and inclusion external landscape, remaining up to date on emerging topics and best practices. Leverage this knowledge when planning and executing DEI programs.
- Identify, select, manage, and track partnerships that align with our strategic goals.
- Act as a change agent and think "outside the box," while consistently exhibiting sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Actively engage with associates and create effective feedback loops around the DEI programs.
