Sr Manager Data Analytics - Telecommute

As a member of the Data Science & Analytics team, you will use your experience with healthcare data and your programming skills in Python, SAS or SQL to provide analytics, data-driven insights, and clinical outcomes reporting to our clinical, finance, account management, and business development teams. In this role, you will also get to measure the value and improve the effectiveness of the Landmark Health program.

Primary Responsibilites:
- Extract, analyze, and interpret healthcare utilization and financial data to address business questions regarding population health management, health and economic outcomes, quality of healthcare, and product design

Measure the value and improve the effectiveness of the Landmark Health program

Act as a resource for others on the team for methodological and reporting questions
- Be able to independently develop queries and reporting on healthcare utilization trends and financial savings derived from the Landmark Health program
- Lead complex projects independently, including review and QA of work of other team members. Act as a resource for others on the team for methodological and reporting questions
- Work with our business partners to understand and evaluate the drivers of quality, engagement, and utilization outcomes in our membership cohort
- Work on predominately descriptive and regression-based analytics, casual inference led (healthcare analytics) or data pattern recognition (data science) analysis.
- Leverage subject matter expert views in the design of their analytics and algorithms.
- Clearly present relevant and meaningful findings to internal and external leadership
- Adapt to departmental plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of health care industry experience
- 2+ years managing employees
- Experience with data interpretation, analysis, and reporting specifically with regard to medical cost and utilization
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, financial and technical skills; must be able to introduce new ideas, processes, and tools to improve company performance
- Strong leadership, analytical, project planning and coordination skills
- High energy. Demonstrates an ability to function in a creative, fast-paced environment and think outside the box
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in statistics, social science, public health, mathematics, economics, or epidemiology
- Experience using statistical methods to evaluate healthcare claims data and experience with reporting tools such as Tableau
- 5 + years of experience using SAS, SQL, Python or other programming language
Positions in this function are responsible for the management and manipulation of mostly structured data, with a focus on building business intelligence tools, conducting analysis to distinguish patterns and recognize trends, performing normalization operations and assuring data quality. Depending on the specific role and business line, example responsibilities in this function could include creating specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights, and presenting recommendations for use across the company. Roles in this function could partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization. Other roles involved could include producing and managing the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients. Team members will typically use business intelligence, data visualization, query, analytic and statistical software to build solutions, perform analysis and interpret data. Positions in this function work on predominately descriptive and regression-based analytics, casual inference led (healthcare analytics) or data pattern recognition (data science) analysis,; and tend to leverage subject matter expert views in the design of their analytics and algorithms. This function is not intended for employees performing the following work: production of standard or self-service operational reporting, and/or image or unstructured data analysis using sophisticated theoretical frameworks.
