Linux System Administrator
Job Description
Growing non-profit looking to bring a Linux Administrator to their team. Position does allow some telecommute options.

Responsibilities:
Ensures maximum availability and smooth operation of assigned IT systems by providing the following system administration functions:
- Performs IT system administration and maintenance. Monitors systems for proper operation and takes appropriate preventive and corrective actions. Maintains configuration and log files.
- Installs and upgrades software and hardware.
- Evaluates hardware and software.
- Resolves user questions and issues. Follow Customer Service Standards for documenting and resolving user requests.
- Provide support and training to staff.
- Coordinates hardware problem resolution with on-site and vendor service personnel.
- Performs problem diagnosis and recovery.
- Monitors and analyzes use of system resources and makes recommendations for changes.
- Monitors system security.
- Staff Help Desk
- Documents activities including status and technical reports
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science or related field. 6 years progressively responsible experience in IT support
