Clamp Forklift Driver

Position:

We are in search of Forklift Clamp Operators for an appliance company.

Job Summary:

The following are the primary responsibilities for a Forklift Operator. This position is intended to support the shipping and receiving of all serialized and non-serialized merchandise. This position requires an understanding of all the company's Policies and Procedures. Adherence to these policies and procedures is always expected. All defined areas of responsibility listed below carry equal weight of importance.

Essentials Functions:

This job description is not all encompassing and may be modified as needed. This position reports directly to the Assistant Manager.

1. Safe Work Habits

• Responsible for filling Forklift propane tank for machine operating (daily), training provided
• Learn and adhere to proper lifting techniques
• Learn and adhere to guidelines for safe operation of a sit-down carton-clamp lift truck
• Perform daily pre- and post-shift inspections of all equipment utilized including lift truck
• Use appliance dollies and carts in a safe manner as needed for lifting and transporting
• Always ask for assistance when needed for lifting heavy items
• Wear protective clothing and use protective equipment as required

2. Order Picking

• Operator responsible for accurate and timely picking and staging of merchandise for consumer delivery, will-call, and installation as well as internal transfer
• Operator responsible for following all manufacturer suggested handling best practices
• Operator responsible for scanning picked inventory to corresponding order or transfer
• Operator responsible for reconciling scanned inventory reports in accordance with facility standards

3. Inventory Receipt and Put-Away

• Operator responsible for accurate and timely unloading, staging and put away of all incoming goods
• Operator responsible for accurate and timely labeling and scanning goods to be received before put away

4. Inventory Control

• Operator will be responsible for using inventory scanners to ensure goods are accurately reflected in correct inventory locations as they move through DC and store channels
• Operator must conduct routine (weekly) bin location audits of their assigned Area of Responsibility within the Distribution Center
• Operator will be required to assist with bi-annual serialized inventories and reconciliation of any recorded variances
• Operator is required to ensure all received, transferred, and shipped goods are properly tagged with inventory labels as specified by Howard’s Policy & Procedure

5. Cleaning & Staging

• Operator is responsible for cleanliness and organization of their assigned Area of Responsibility within the Distribution Center
• Operator is required to assist, as needed, or instructed, in the general upkeep of the Pico Rivera facility, including common and exterior areas
• Ensure lift-trucks are refueled at the end of each shift

6. Other – Back Up Company Driver

• Must be willing to be trained to drive 28’ box truck on a stand-in basis, training provided
• Must have clean driving record
• Move furniture to stage for shipping – up to 50 lbs.
• Must utilize an appliance dolly (daily), training provided

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.  Requires frequent walking, standing, twisting, bending, and occasional repetitive movement.
• Requires using hand tools  Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Occasionally will go outdoors Work Schedules:
• Available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends
• Ability to sustain a good attendance track record

Qualifications:

• 1 year of Forklift Clamp experience (will consider other Forklift experience)
• ERP system experience  Scanner experience (used for product allocation processes)
• Certified Forklift  Customer service experience  Understanding of basic math and cycle count  Computer literate (intermediate)
• Experience with Microsoft Suite
• Ability to maintain professionalism when interacting with internal and external customers

Preferred:

• Bi-lingual Spanish/Tagalog/Vietnamese/Chinese/Korean preferred but not required
