Sr Hardware Regulatory Compliance Engineer
The Compliance Engineer is responsible to ensure that current and future products meet national and international regulatory requirements. They must identify the appropriate regulatory requirements for the product type; evaluate, recommend, and implement test strategies that may utilize both in-house or outsourced test capabilities.
In the proper execution of this job function, the person holding this position will assist in opening new markets for the product, reduce the likelihood of litigation involving product liability, and assure that the organization has met its legal responsibility with regard to product design.
Job Duties:
- Provide guidance and review new product designs to identify regulatory compliance issues.
- Implement and/or review changes to existing product designs to identify regulatory compliance impact.
- Monitor product regulatory standards to keep apprised of new or changing requirements that may affect our products.
- Identify products impacted and ensure product management is aware of required actions to retain compliance.
- Maintain a pertinent list of Industry Specifications and Resideo Committee members.
- Identify and implement best practices including streamlining and digitization of the current internal system. This will be partially accomplished through teaming with like roles in other parts of Resideo.
- Establish and maintain regulatory compliance test strategies, programs, and facilities.
- Initiate and/or review ECRs for corrective action involving agency issues of regulatory controlled products.
- Manage regulatory agency reports for all applicable products.
- Primary point of contact for all regulatory agencies.
- Oversee Regional Compliance requirements and product conformance.
You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field-IE, EE, or ME
- Minimum 4-6 years experience with interpretation and application of these standards:
- UL, CSA, IEC, ANSI, CE, FM, EMC, ESD, IC, FAA CCC, and FCC.
- Any new hire for this position must be vaccinated for COVID-19 by their start date with Resideo, subject to any prohibitions or exceptions under state or local law.
We Value:
- Ability to comprehend electrical schematics, diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Experienced in the use of MS Office suite, MS Project, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong multi-tasking/multiple project management ability with a minimum of 3-4 years of managing compliance projects.
- Ability to work within flexible work hours.
- Ability to work within a global organization
- Experience in working with residential electronics & systems.
- Organized and thorough in the release of required documentation
- Knowledge of Six Sigma/ Lean Manufacturing is a plus
- Hands-on product testing experience and requirements.
