Aircraft Maintenance Team Lead



Job Description

Purpose: To ensure the safe, compliant, on-time and efficient maintenance of company aircraft at the Line maintenance level. This is achieved by coordinating and executing aircraft maintenance and providing guidance and support to Crew Members. The Team Lead will champion a culture of "Safety" and "One Crew", while maintaining transparency in actions and communications to Maintenance Control and fellow

Crew Members.

Outcomes and Responsibilities Performance Measures

1) Maintain an understanding of the maintenance program, to include:

Scheduled maintenance
AOG protocol
Labor requirements
Labor management
Materials, equipment and tooling

2) Coordinate and execute scheduled and unscheduled work loads

Jobs progress
Seamless, accurate turnovers
Accurate and complete paperwork
Materials, equipment and tooling management
Accurate job completion times

3) Assume "ownership" of the operation on shift

Keep Maintenance Control informed
Communicate with Maintenance Leadership
Maintain key "Safety" control elements:
Promote Safety
Ensure Crew members are trained
Ensure Safety equipment is in good condition and being utilized

4) Ensure that Crewmembers are competent trained and qualified

On-the-job training (OJT) is being performed on a regular basis
Ensure skillsets and qualifications support the functions

5) Manage materials processes on shift

Ensure parts are requisitioned accurately and correctly
Maintain clean and orderly parts room
Process (incoming and outgoing) parts correctly
Identify stock level deficiencies and alert supervisor

6) Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) Program

Support safety promotion, quality, and safety culture
For SMS related issues, reports to the Safety Committee or the Director of Safety
Report safety-related issues to Leadership thru the Safety Reporting system

  • Assign technicians based on workload
  • Evaluate to determine when maintenance functions are out of scope
  • Evaluate available labor vs scheduled maintenance
  • Review materials requests for accuracy

Functional Competencies

  • High knowledge of aircraft systems and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of MEL procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SRM conditional use and damage assessment
  • Ability to functionally use and search various forms of technical data
  • Strong knowledge of use of various fleet-specific tooling

  • 2 years Line or Heavy maintenance experience- Part 121 Air Carrier
  • 1-year leadership role in a Line Maintenance or Shop environment
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required
  • High School diploma (or equivalent)
  • College degree preferred
  • Boeing Systems Fam courses preferred

Licenses/Designations

  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Complete a background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must have the authority to work in the U.S as defined in the Immigrations Act of 1986
  • Valid Passport (preferred)
