Software Engineer II with Security Clearance

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Software Assurance (SwA) Support - Software Engineer Level II to join our team at Lackland AFB. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Primary Tasks * Attend/run/organize briefs/meetings/working groups to expand software assurance (SwA) capabilities, gather data, and/or contribute to the DoD SwA and program protection community.
* Conduct engineering and program protection document reviews focusing on SwA techniques.
* Contribute to whitepapers, standard operating procedure documents, SwA documents, program protection plans, and other documentation relating to SwA.
* Conduct research, including market research, and report on various SwA topics.
* Conduct gap analysis on SwA techniques employed within programs and/or activities as requested. Secondary/Support/Non-regular Tasks: General administrative:
Brief mission, capabilities, project status, and results as necessary. Compile weekly and/or monthly activity reports and submit to team lead as required. Conduct binary or static code assessments - perform analysis, analyze results and report findings and potential impacts, and recommend mitigation steps (when available/known). Occasionally (on ad hock basis dependent on availability and current workload):
Software Development - Development/sustainment of an additional two in-house developed web applications. Assist in containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) for systems in the office. Minimum Requirements (Intermediate level unless otherwise noted): * Strong problem solving and research skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and with minimal guidance for most tasks.
* Ability to work in close collaboration with other team members.
* Strong understanding of software assurance and software security.
* Understanding of software supply chain and development tools, processes and best practices.
* Understanding of DevSecOps and agile development methodologies.
* Understanding of static source code analysis tools and processes.
* Understanding of binary analysis tools and processes.
* Understanding of adversarial attack behaviors (malicious attacks).
* Knowledge of cyber countermeasures and mitigations.
* Understanding of malware detection and malicious indicators of compromise. Nice to have (Rudimentary level unless otherwise noted): * Able to identify malware via reverse engineering or other methods.
* Blue/Red/Purple team experience.
* Familiar with DoD/AF Acquisition (processes, requirements, pathways, etc.) Additional Information: * Currently in a telework situation, but will need to be able to go into the office as necessary. This may be changing in the future dependent on COVID policies.
* Travel may be required in the future to attend Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), working groups, and/or community of practice meetings (depends on COVID policies and the scheduling of in-person events). Physical requirements: * Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time
* Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel
