Nursery Labor

Enliven Planters is an innovative, subscription gardening service that delivers seasonal arrangements to client's homes and businesses four times per year. We are dedicated to making the homes and neighborhoods in Greater Philadelphia more beautiful and enjoyable places to live. We are currently seeking 6 people to join our Horticulture Team to help care for thousands of plants in inventory.

As a Nursery labor staff member your responsibilities surround caring for our living inventory, including, but not limited to: Watering, repotting, fertilizing, pruning, and applying fungicide treatments. Our nursery labor team members are also responsible for accepting daily deliveries of plants, Keeping our shelves and space organized, loading delivery trucks with completed planter arrangements, and keeping our facility neat and tidy. Candidates should possess the following core competencies:

• Prompt and reliable – we are caring for perishable inventory. You are expected to show up on time for all your shifts.
• Attentive to detail – subtle differences between plants species and individual specimens is key to organization and care
• Desire to learn – you are not expected to possess a background in horticulture to do this job well. You are expected to study the materials, ask questions, and learn quickly.
• Thoroughness – nothing is worse than asking someone to do something twice.
• Physical stamina – you must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and be able to lift 65 lbs repeatedly.

Nursery Labor starts at $15/hr. No prior experience is necessary. Anyone with a background in hospitality, manual labor, horticulture, and landscaping is welcome to apply. This position will start mid March as we begin our Spring season.
