Job Description

El Concilio's Behavioral Health Department is seeking to fill the position of a Peer Partner. The Peer Partner will bring awareness and improve access for those in need of mental health services through workshops, health fairs, regular group meetings and attendance at San Joaquin County community events and faith based organizations. The Peer Partner will work with the members and the family to effect change in behavior that allows the members to be successful in the management of symptoms of serious mental illness, and to be stable in the community. Task within this position involve implementing outreach to identify underrepresented, and underserved adults, with serious mental illness. This position will develop workshops to provide educational information on mental health services and the concept of mental health recovery, wellness, and resiliency.

Qualifications: An Associates Degree in psychology or related field is highly preferred; A Highschool diploma or GED equivalency with 1- 3 years of case management or related field is required in lieu of an A.A Degree.
