Senior Manager - AP Process Improvement Consultant

job summary:

Tatum by Randstad is recruiting for a Process Improvement Consultant specializing in Accounts Payable for a worldwide manufacturer based in Las Vegas, NV. This position can be a remote role as long as the Consultant is based on the West Coast as there would be travel to the Las Vegas office for 1-2 days per month.


The Process Improvement Consultant would lead the review and assessment of company's current Accounts Payable function with a view to redesign and transform the Accounts Payable Team.


Your responsibilities include but not limited to, monitoring team engagement, process reviews, and standardizing processes where required while engaging with stakeholders for team and process feedback. The goal is to create a team culture of cross collaboration and establish cross functional teams based around same processes.

responsibilities:


  • Lead process analysis, assessment and re-design of Accounts Payable Shared Services aligned to meet top-down targets and operating model principles.
  • Working with the team on core global Accounts Payable functions including vendor management, invoices processing, invoice payments, expenses management and corporate credit card programs; develop and drive strategies to optimize current and future AP services and the customer experience.
  • Lead and execute process transformation plans; quantify benefits of continuous improvement initiatives and prioritize according to effort and return.
  • Identify current pain points in end-to-end processes across Accounts Payable and support the development of solutions that address business needs and customer requirements.
  • Drive standardization and lead or sponsor initiatives on continuous improvements across the global AP processes; leverage LEAN and process improvement tools/techniques, AP best practices, and other transformation programs (including robotics/BI reporting) to deliver results that exceed customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and document the current state of processes, business practices, SOP's and the process performance metrics along with developing a future state process, best practices and performance metrics taking into consideration both upstream and downstream stakeholders.
  • Communicate the metrics to the key stakeholders with a view to drive improvements and efficiencies.
  • Identify inter-dependencies on process change between other transformation initiatives, highlighting the impacts of these changes and mitigating or escalating apparent risks where appropriate.
  • Review of teams current tools and work toward increasing utilization of existing functionality and improved processes.
  • Ensure the teams are using a standardized set of key performance indicators (KPI's) as per the organizations standards and that targets can be achieved through a rigorous performance management system.
  • Coach, mentor and influence all levels to affect the required continuous improvement culture and mindset within the Shared Services teams; coach and guide other teams in the application of Lean and Design principles to problem solve and deliver improved outcomes.
  • Monitor staff to ensure adherence to processes and policies with a view of seeking to improve processes.
  • Be the point of contact for key changes that impact the team/s; drive a change management framework for any key changes to processes that impact the team.
  • Ensure adequate internal controls are in place and enhanced across all processes to minimize risks where applicable.


qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field; Master's preferred.
  • LEAN Six Sigma skills with at least 3 years of practitioner experience required.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar certification preferred.
  • Subject matter expert in Concur is required
  • Experience working with a global organization with multi-regional teams and processes required.


This is at least a 12 month contract with the possibility of extending or getting hired by this company.
