Senior Technician, Desktop Support
The candidate for the Senior Technician, Desktop Support position will provide, under limited supervision, technical support of personal computers (PCs), printers, thin clients, wireless scanners, and servers in a network environment. This will include the delivery, installation, and setup of such systems in the end-user community within our Las Vegas warehouse. This will include installation of approved software as well as the diagnostics of basic hardware and software problems encountered by the end-users. This is a fulltime position that requires weekdays and weekends support. Note: Position will be a second shift schedule (2pm to 11pm 3x weekdays and 6am to 3pm weekends).
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide technical support to our Las Vegas Fulfillment Center
Maintain PCs, printers, thin clients, wireless scanners, and servers, minimizing downtime
Monitor support call queue for new support calls and respond accordingly
Troubleshoot hardware, software, Wireless, WAN, and LAN issues
Troubleshoot and configure Zebra wireless devices and Cisco-Meraki access points
Work with external vendors to resolve hardware and software issues
Work with Network Group with any Network issue/project.
Document support processes and troubleshooting procedures for hardware and software
Install and support software requested by the business
Create and maintain AS400 devices descriptions
Support Moves, Adds and Changes related to our warehouse environment
Work with end-users to develop an understanding of the needs and uses
Collaborate with other team members to resolve complex issues through training and support
Update project database to keep Senior management aware of changes
Create and modify support documentation as related to the warehouse infrastructure
Working knowledge of infrastructure as it pertains to Network configurations
On call 24/7 support for the warehouses
Maintain and support POS equipment
Ability to prioritize projects and support issues
Supporting Multimedia Communication throughout the Fulfillment Center for both Special Events and daily Announcements and Messages.
QUALIFYING EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
BA/BS in Business or Computer Science or AA with minimum of 3 years related work experience
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong customer service skills
Works well in a team environment
Able to adapt and to be assertive in a fast paced constantly changing environment
Knowledge of Motorola Wireless infrastructure
Knowledge of Cable Plant wiring and terminations
Knowledge of Data Center systems- UPS and Air Conditioning protected environment.
Knowledge of Conveyer systems
Able to work on a lift to ceiling heights to troubleshoot AP and Cabling issues.
Very strong PC hardware and software troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge of Windows Win 10 & Office 365, AS/400
Detail oriented
