Production Supervisor



Job Description

General Scope of Duties:

You will be responsible for supervising the production team in a warehouse environment. You will ensure production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assign operator shift duties.
  • Assist all lines with changeovers.
  • Manage and coordinate staging and feeding scrap for pickers.
  • Troubleshoot line malfunctions or production issues and offer improvement ideas.
  • Perform routine maintenance on production equipment and/or assist Maintenance Technicians as needed.
  • Responsible for equipment set-up, adjustment and operation.
  • Repair equipment and needle boards.
  • Manage fiber substitutions.
  • Process finished product (test quality, shrink wrap, labeling, etc.).
  • Ensures finished product meets specifications.
  • Implement corrective actions for complaints and credits.
  • Monitor/audit QC logs and complaint areas daily.
  • Assist others to maintain uninterrupted workflow through manufacturing.
  • Assist and coordinate with shipping and receiving.
  • Train new hires and enforce company policies.
  • Monitor critical supplies, parts and fiber levels.
  • Help run lines as needed.
  • Monitor and address behaviors and conditions daily.
  • Raise safety awareness, engagement and positive recognition.
  • Remain within productivity and cost guidelines.
  • Assist crew with maintenance tasks.
  • Other duties as required/ needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a nonwovens production environment is preferred.

Skills:

  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
  • Ability to follow and issue verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to direct the work of others to meet customer needs.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Must be in compliance with all safety guidelines at all times.
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Able to work on foot for extended periods of time.
  • Reliability and willingness to work 60 hours per week to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully work in a fast-paced, high volume warehouse environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain a respectful work environment.

1st Shift- 6 AM- 6 PM; 2nd Shift 6 PM- 6 AM

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to Plant Manger

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will supervise Operators

Effort & Working Conditions: This position will work in a plant environment.
