Compensation: $60.00 to $75.00 hourly
Our Washtenaw County non-profit client is in need of an Interim Chief Financial Officer. The Interim Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for providing consultative support regarding the structure of the accounting and finance and will also manage those team members. In addition, the Interim Chief Financial Officer will be also be responsible for creating, supporting and implementing growth strategies for the organization. The Interim Chief Financial Officer will also be responsible for leading the budgeting and forecasting process and implementation and maintenance of KPI's.
Key responsibilities
- Manage financial systems implementations and upgrades
- Recognize and control business risks and insurance requirements
- Govern accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Own the relationship with independent auditors
- Lead relationships with investors and investment institutions
- Create ways to improve the integrity of a company's financial information
- Strategically manage the Accounting and Finance functions
The ideal Interim Chief Financial Officer must have at least 15 years progressive accounting and finance experience with at least 5 of those years in a senior financial role. In addition, the ideal candidate must have non-profit or government experience and fund accounting experience. The ideal candidate must also have strong accounting package software such as Abila MIP or Blackbaud, as well as advanced Excel including pivot tables and vlookups. CPA, CMA or MBA preferred. This is a long-term project for the right candidate.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment
- CPA designation or MBA highly preferred
- Must have great interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior accounting/finance position
- Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
- Solid understanding of accounting software and other computer software
