Settlements Analyst

Responsibilities:



Energy Trading Settlement Activities:


  • Prepare energy settlements related to energy management agreements, or other gas, power, ISO, emissions, FX, pipeline and/or internal transactions with complex trade components.
  • Timely and accurate settlement of physical and financial energy trading activity including the resolution of aged balances.
  • Resolve and explain prior period adjustments
  • Follow internal control procedures to ensure proper documentation and information accuracy
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with counterparties and internal contacts with timely responses to requests for information and research
  • Work with other settlements team members, schedulers, and pipelines to resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and submit payment packages for energy settlements
  • Work with complex spreadsheets for settlements and/or reporting purposes


Comply with reporting and research requests and deadlines:


  • Follow up on Treasury requests for research on AR/AP issues
  • Timely and accurate completion of special requests/projects
  • Interact and provide necessary information to various groups (Front Office, Settlements, Confirmations, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Compliance, Audit, etc.) in order to ensure timely and accurate settlements or reports.
  • Prepare internal and external reports for metrics, compliance, and tax
  • Work with Compliance team to create or revise regulatory reports as new regulations or changes occur


Technical qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • Undergraduate degree
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Energy Settlement experience is a plus
