Pension Service Representative



Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Calculates and/or verifies pension benefits and payment worksheets. Effectively utilizes benefit administration technology to ensure appropriate efficiency. Researches pension plan provisions and pension law, as necessary, to ensure accurate completion of complex pension calculations.
  • Responds to routine information requests received from participants, beneficiaries and plan representatives. Effectively utilizes knowledgebase technology to ensure accuracy and consistency of information provided.
  • Utilizes case management technology to track all inquiries and facilitates the tracking of Pension Service Center metrics.
  • Assists with obtaining data needed from all entities for pension administration. Assists with problem resolution and data signoffs/edits/corrections to maintain data integrity.
  • Assists with participant-related savings plan issues as requested by Supervisor or Manager.
  • Performs a variety of other duties commensurate with the position; carries out or assists in special projects, duties and other non-Call Center related functions as assigned.
  • Reviews and approves test calculations for benefit statements to ensure accuracy before the statements are produced
  • Assists with benefit fairs and training of Participant Services and/or staff.
  • Maintains a confidential atmosphere in handling sensitive payroll and benefit information.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a minimum of two years of related work experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Possess a strong customer service focus, with good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented and possess strong technical skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Word, and Access.
  • Must be willing to occasionally work long and/or irregular hours and travel, when necessary.
