Business Systems Analyst
**REMOTE ROLE W/ OCCASIONAL ONSITE VISITS/MEETINGS**
The Business Systems Analyst works directly with the business owners of their assigned support areas to analyze, specify, and design automated systems as well as implement new systems or modifying existing ones. This position also investigates and problems, provides application technical support, and training to their customers for systems and software. Also, acting as the communication hub, this position coordinates the information technology activities for their assigned areas by designing, configuring, testing, and debugging software based on user requirements.
Lastly, this associate supports strategic projects as a crucial member of the project team and can also be asked to investigate and resolve problems, provide application technical support, and training to their customers. This associate may report to a senior business systems analyst, coordinator, manager, or director for a particular deliverable.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Quality/No Harm:
- Understands all aspects of business requirements and their relationship to application requirements
- Works closely with other IS staff to specify requirements and translate them to well-designed software structures
- Uses system tools to develop adhoc queries and reports in response to user requests
- Communicates results
- Creates, reviews, and updates documentation on an annual basis for responsible systems
- Prepares test scenarios and testing schedules
- Monitors and analyzes performance during testing
- Develops technical documentation for system support
- Performs process improvement tasks, conducting studies on complex operational problems, new system requirements
- Assists in the development of departmental reporting and analysis where specific technical skills are required
- Reviews test plans for Associate Business Systems Analyst when required
- Creates and designs various database applications, queries, reports, and other data extraction techniques
Customer Experience:
- Expert understanding of assigned applications(s) functionality
- Understands and can articulate department business processes to resolve workflow issues
- Delivers solutions in such a way that the systems meet the needs of the departments
Stewardship:
- Ensures that adequate testing is performed and documented prior to implementation
- Competently manages all assigned tasks
- Keeps management informed of status of activities and issues
- Mentors other system analysts assisting these associates with more complex issues or projects
- Utilize resources wisely, handling routine and intermediate issues without management intervention
- Completes other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience in a relevant field may be substituted at director's discretion.
- 3+ years’ experience in information technology is required
- Maintains the most recent certifications applicable to the current position based on the installed application or system software versions or platforms. If application certifications are not available maintains most relevant education available for assigned application.
- Ability to work effectively with team members and the user community.
- Expertise in business and systems analysis and design in a technical environment
- Ability to work and maintain composure in an often stressful environment
