Naval Architect / Marine Design Engineer

SEA.O.G Offshore has ambitious growth plans therefore we are looking to expand our engineering team. We are looking for a skilled, self-starting Naval Architect / Marine Design Engineer to come on board. In this role you will be supporting tenders, projects and R&D developments for all matters related to hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, vessel motion- and workability analyses.


What you’ll be doing:

- Perform Vessel motion- and seakeeping analyses using frequency- and time domain software

- Perform Workability and weather downtime analyses

- Perform DP Capability analysis

- Take a leading role in running Engineering projects, from planning to execution

- Prepare and review all marine engineering reports.

- Support and manage the subcontracting of Marine Engineering if required

- Continuously improve the technical skills / know how in the company by actively sharing knowledge, experiences, and development of engineering tools

- Contribute to a growing organization by continuously evaluating and improving on engineering-and business processes

- Coach and motivate team members

What we are looking for:

- You hold a BSc/MSc degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Technology, Offshore Technology, Ocean Engineering or equivalent

- You have experience with hydrodynamic software packages (OrcaFlex, AQWA, WAMIT etc)

- You have proficiency with CAD and Microsoft Office software packages

- You have relevant experience performing a variety of marine analyses

- You have a good understanding of good understanding of ABS, DNV, API, IMO and related industry regulations and standards.

- You are a reliable self-starter who is equally productive when working independently or on a team

- You bring a can-do attitude, are eager to learn, have a positive mindset and can easily adapt to change.

- You have strong analytical and pragmatic skills

- Experience in the offshore wind-, offshore O&G or marine industry is a plus.

- Candidates with PE license and EIT certification will be strongly preferred

- Having experience in the offshore construction industry is preferred

- Good programming and data analysis skills (using Python) is an advantage

- You score bonus point if you have Structural Engineering knowledge
