Ferguson has a great opportunity for a Category Program Manager out of Ferguson's corporate offices in Newport News, VA. This role has the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule!
This position works directly with the Director of Categories PVF with a primary focus on emerging and new product offerings as well as working closely with management to develop solutions, business tools, communications, and answers to request for information from the businesses.
The role is responsible for developing, rollout and execution of new business strategies, products, and tools to support Fergusons PVF Businesses. Is constantly engaged directly with Customer Group leadership, Ferguson Regional and District Leadership, Customer Group Directors, Category Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Product Services, and Sales to develop to rollout, and support strategic program offerings and complex business tools.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates directly with Category Management leadership as well as Customer Group and Regional Leadership to develop complex business solutions and strategies to support the initiatives of the operating company.
Leads the creation of new and emerging technology programs and the implementation of launch plans to ensure successful growth and profitability performance in accordance with the Ferguson annual growth targets
Works directly with Customer Groups to integrate a product strategy and align product priorities.
Educate company on overall product strategies critical for future business growth.
Collaborates with Branch Operations to develop and ensure successful launch programs.
Conduct regular reviews of product/program performance across all branches in order to identify underperforming branches. Develop recommendations for underperforming branches for management review.
Work closely and collaboratively with the other key management of the Strategic Product Group.
Balance corporate needs for branded and proprietary brands to reach corporate sales and trading profit goals.
Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained in the DC network. Takes action steps to reduce inventory or adjust demand in support of the business.
Works with Sr. Category managers to establish and implement departmental goals and initiatives.
Provides frequent and clear communication regarding group activities to Sr. Product Managers and Executives.
Conduct regular product line reviews of Product Managers product portfolios in order to ensure volume/mix and profit objectives are being achieved, including DC programs. Develop recommendations for underperforming products and programs for management review.
Assist Senior Category Managers in establishing our overall product strategy.
Ensure development and execution of a comprehensive product training curriculum.
Travel occasionally as needed.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Data Management preferred
Ferguson or external experience with specific product category, PVF, preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong communications skills
Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere
