As a civilian contractor working for QuarterLine, you will utilize your abilities as a Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse to provide skilled nursing care to patients in Acute Care, Primary Care Clinics in Birmingham and surrounding Community-Based Outpatient Clinics. The Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse will also demonstrate competence in caring for adult psychiatric, medical, and geriatric patients.

• How to Qualify. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: Required to be a graduate of a state approved school of practical/vocational nursing. Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in related field is highly preferred. Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Certifications and Licensures: The minimum requirement for all LPNs assigned to the BVAMC shall include a current unrestricted LPN license from any State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States, and a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
  • Experience: Knowledge and skill sufficient to prepare, administer, and appropriately document actions taken specific to commonly prescribed oral, topical, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and/or intravenous medications as permitted by approved local facility policies and procedures. Observation and documentation will include patient's response to medication administered and the reporting of any noted change in patient's condition to RN or MD/DO. Demonstrated ability to serve as a responsible member of the nursing team and interact [in an appropriate manner] with patients, family members, professional and [other] supportive personnel [involved in the delivery of] patient care, incorporating acceptable, established customer service standards into practice.
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizenship.
  • Credentialing: Ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations.
• Physical Requirements: You must be on the premises to perform the job. The environment is fast-paced and multifaceted, with conditions and duties that can change quickly throughout a shift.
