Summary

As the Internal Controls Specialist based at our corporate headquarters in Novi, MI, you will be responsible for the testing and assessing of management internal controls, updating process documentation, assisting with the annual control risk assessment, as well as deficiency identification and remediation for our Specialty Vehicles business unit.

Responsibilities

• Execute the design and testing of Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting (ICFR)
• Review business process documentation and assist process owners in making updates
• Advise process and control owners with remediation action plans for identified control deficiencies
• Interact with all functions and departments serving as a subject matter expert on internal control
• Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve the control environment
• Coordinate with internal and external audit teams, as necessary

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in public accounting, internal audit, or other industry related experience in an internal or external control's role
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Demonstrate proficiency in designing, implementing and testing financial controls
• Experience with publicly traded organizations and a strong understanding of SOX
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and audit management software

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic fast-paced environment
• Motivated to grow in the role with opportunity to rotate to another business function after 2 years

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Related professional certification (CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, etc.) preferred but not required
