Job Description

The Production / Prep Cook team member will be part of the Operations team and will report directly to the Production Manager and Area Lead supporting the responsibilities of production team. He or she will be an important member of the front line work force responsible for the day-to-day preparation of ingredients and recipes and assure recipes are followed and quality specifications are met.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous prep cook experience, preferably in a high volume restaurant.
  • Must have ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift up to forty-fifty (40-50) pounds.
  • Texas ServSafe Food Handler’s Certification.

Responsibilities:

  • To understand and practice all MTC policies, procedures, and regulations;
  • Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner;
  • Assists Cook with food preparation as assigned;
  • Understands kitchen equipment and the operation of the equipment;
  • Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant;
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes;
  • Assists in keeping all food storage areas, refrigerator, freezer, etc. clean and organized;
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all food items properly;
  • Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills;
  • Assists in on the serving line when needed;
  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas;
