Compensation Accountant

A financial services company in New York City is actively seeking a team-oriented and hardworking professional to join their staff as a Compensation Accountant. In this role, the Compensation Accountant will perform monthly accrual calculations for incentive-award compensation, including verification of inputs and performing control checks, reconciliations, and analytical reviews.

Responsibilities

The Compensation Accountant will:

  • Manage and present reporting to front office business leads on a quarterly basis
  • Assist in the design and rollout of enhancements to automation and reporting
  • Manage complex front office performance-based bonus models for accrual calculations
  • Coordinate year-end audit testing of compensation accruals
  • Coordinate with international teams on compensation related accounts and processes
  • Handle extensive interaction and coordination with Executive Management, Front Office COOs, and the Compensation HR department with a client service approach
  • Maintain a controlled operating environment in conjunction with company’s internal controls, while looking for opportunities to enhance controls
  • Participate in special projects as they arise

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree with a concentration in Accounting / Finance
  • 5-10 years of Finance & Accounting experience
  • Experience improving processes and working on projects designed to improve efficiencies
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Highly organized
  • Proven experience working under tight deadlines and delivering high quality results
