About the Position:
Reporting to the Director of Patient Care Services, the Admissions Manager supervises a team of RNs, LVNs and support staff and is responsible for the coordination of the care delivered by the admissions team. The Admissions Manager ensures prompt service to patients, families and referral sources to provide general information regarding hospice and palliative care service. The manager is further responsible for the coordination of all evaluations and admissions to ensure the efficient entry of appropriate patients and families onto hospice services. This position will collaborate to ensure effective marketing outreach and education to key referral sources in conjunction with the Area Managers of Business Development. This position is a key resource for referral sources and thereby plays a critical role in maintaining relationships throughout the community.
This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to gain the trust, respect and support of the nursing staff; and effectiveness in building relationships with hospice executive staff, physicians, the entire interdisciplinary team and partnering providers in the community. Flexibility and adaptability are imperative.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of California.
- Must have at least two (2) years of hospice and palliative care experience in the last five (5) years; experience in the admissions process is a definite plus.
- Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Auto Insurance Coverage.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and respond to the needs of patients, families and caregivers in varied settings and to function effectively in a nursing facility environment.
- Demonstrated skill in nursing practice, ability to cope with family emotional stress and tolerance of individual lifestyles.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, documentation requirements and deadlines.
- Experience in mentoring nursing staff.
